My Art process

Finding your art process takes a lot of time. It isn't something that just happens overnight. It's something that happens over time. Have you ever wondered to yourself, if only I could find my art style?
I have thought this over the years, and have struggled with it a lot as an artist, but what I have learned in all my years of being an artist is that truly finding your art style is just doing the art that you love.
I feel like when I create the art that I love, there will be people who also love it and collectors who are like, "I would really love to hang that in my living room, in my dining room, or even in my bedroom." They can already visualize a space where that art would fit perfectly into their lives. They also love it.
I feel like the stories that we share behind our art also is part of our process. This comes from me as a child spending time on my grandparents farm and the influences that I had in my life, specifically the women who influenced my life.
As I work through a series of paintings, this also helps me to get down my process. I begin them all the same using collage followed by inks and acrylics to give it this really expressive back painting. I love it because it is messy and it's unpredictable and it's just downright fun. I like to draw in my images are with Art Graph. It is a water soluble graphite and I just love the way that it creates marks. I then go back in with Acrylics.
I hope that you are enjoying Learning about my art process!
Thank you so much for being with me today in my studio. I really appreciate you being here.
