Memories in the Making
When I was little I enjoyed visiting my grandma's farm. She always let us play dress up, and explore the farm. From the strawberry patch to the apple orchard, it was a magical world for a little girl.
When I think back I can still feel the textiles, smell the flowers, and witness the simple life of living on a farm. I hold to the memories of playing with paper dolls, dressing up in petticoats, snapping green beans, and waking up to a table set for breakfast. Sunday dinners included table settings in the dinning room and flowers as center pieces. Visiting my grandparents was often a safe place, with the freedom to play, and I felt so loved.
Digging deeper into what drives me as an artist are these childhood memories. Pulling from my experiences, knowing that I have freedom to play, and sharing these memories and stories with others on canvas.
